Our first visitor!

Pa Gread came to visit us for the weekend! It was so exciting to be able to show off our (exceptionally limited) local knowledge. We spent the weekend gardening and fishing. I think the photos tell it all.
 ENI Beach

We found a creek on the way to Old Mission (following a hot tip from one of our colleagues) and ended up catching four bream.....and a million snags. And yes, there are crocodiles in this creek that could literally jump out and bite these two!

View from Air Force Hill, the only vantage point in Wadeye. You can see Sandfly Creek to the left- that's near the creek we were fishing.

Matt found an old camp chair! How's the serenity?

This is Sandfly Creek where the barge lands in town. The name suits the location! And is full of crocs. Definitely no swimming here.

Fishing expedition- day two. We wanted to get to the mouth of the creek we had fished in earlier. This bush track of Main Beach lead us close, but not close enough. Think it might be a good place to come camping though.

Back at the "secret spot"- this time on high tide. We ended up catching a flathead and a bream. Then started catching huge mudcrabs. The trick was to flick them onto the sand before they dropped the line. Hooked about 10, landed about four.

The chief supervisor- happy to go fishing when Mum packs lollies!

We can't wait until Pa visits again- we have grand plans to get more organised for fishing and will have sussed a few more "secret spots" for next time! AND procured a dip net for the crabs!!
